This is our six bed residential service based in Hatfield, Herts. Although a beautiful, modern home we see it as just another normal house in a normal street. There are no real signs that we could be a care home supporting six complex individuals with autism, learning disabilities and complex medical health issues. The manager, staff, residents and families all work as a tight knit group supporting each other, working in a person-centred way with the individual at the heart of their service.
This was our first service which like no 10, is in a residential area in Hatfield. It is currently home to four wonderful gentlemen with autism and learning difficulties (they are currently looking for a new house mate, see Jon's blog). Again, they form a great little community with all involved holding residents tea and crumpet meetings (residents meeting) and regular parents meetings, often walking to no 10 which has a large and bright conservatory. This house is particularly busy, always call ahead as they are out most of the time!
